Hello and welcome,
I’m an exophonic writer and live in the Netherlands, in the countryside, with my husband, two daugters and our two Belgian Malinois dogs. I speak Frisian and Dutch but write my stories in English. When I was twenty-one, I moved to London to be a singer, but six years later, I came back to the Netherlands as a writer. I started working as a flight attendant and later taught English at colleges and applied universities. I’m also a writing coach and translator.
I studied English Literature at Groningen University and Creative Writing at the Manchester Writing School (MMU). I am interested in place writing (in fiction and non-fiction), minority cultures, folklore and spirituality. I also love walking, as a flaneuse and a forest dweller, the autumn season and Italian food. I’m working on my second novel and am a member of The Society of Authors.
